Senior Care Assistant


We are looking for Senior Care Assistant to join our new team. As Senior Care Assistant within Metropolitan Care you will be working as part of a focused and skilled team of fully supported staff who have our residents well being at the core of all they do. As the Senior Support Worker, you will help to lead the team towards providing a high quality service, motivating and inspiring them, but most importantly, leading by example through your work with the people we support.

As the Senior Support Worker you will

  • Support and give direction to other employees to improve practice
  • Act as an Active Support Lead
  • Provide support with all aspects of daily living
  • Effectively manage and develop support staff
  • Promote effective communications
  • Assist the Service Manager/Assistant Service Manager to ensure effective administrative systems and procedures relating to effective running of the service such as shift plans, PCPs, rota’s etc
  • Be responsible for co-ordinating the PCPs and act as PCP facilitator

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • At least 2 years experience as a Healthcare Assistant and/or Senior Healthcare Assistant
  • SVQ or NVQ level 3
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to Active Support
  • Ability to effectively supervise and develop staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing
  • Ability to use IT systems, to manage services
  • To be an exponent of best practice
  • Full clean UK driving licence is desirable
